Get a glimpse into the preparation of the Isaac Hall for Slichot prayers

Despite the fact that the founding fathers and mothers of the Jewish people, Abraham & Sarah, Isaac & Rebekkah and Jacob & Leah are buried in the Cave, Jews, Christians and non-Muslims are restricted from visiting and praying by the Tombs of Isaac and Rebekkah all but 10 days a year.

This video shows Jewish students preparing the tombs of Isaac and Rebekkah for Jewish prayer at midnight on one of these special days, during the Jewish month of Elul that precedes the Jewish New Year.

The Muslim prayer items have been removed from the area and Jewish prayer books, Bibles, and arks are being carried into Isaac’s tomb for prayer and worship.
